Product Overview

Hale In Glass pet doors come in a single pane version that fits 3/16" thick glass with a single flap and a double pane glass version with double flaps

  • Extremely weather tight pet door
  • Double Flap pet doors have insulating dead air space
  • Widest range of flap sizes
  • Heavy duty extruded aluminum frame
  • Color matched locking cover with deadbolt
  • Available in Satin, White, Bronze, or Arizona Beige
  • Inside frame and outside colors can be chosen separately on double pane models
  • Double pane version sold with build out frame, can be cut thinner to fit without the frame, but is non-refundable if cut

In the double flap version this pet door is very weather tight. A double flap pet door has a flap on the inside of the door and a flap on the outside of the door, with an insulating dead air space in between. Hale uses two clear vinyl flaps with magnets on sides and bottom in the double flap version of this door. In addition to the magnets, their door has pile weather stripping that seals the flap to the frame. Hale has the widest array of sizes of any pet door manufacturer, so you can get an appropriate size pet door for any pet, including very large breeds like Great Danes, Mastiffs, Irish Wolfhounds, and other giant breeds. These doors are available in large (11" wide) flap sizes with very tall heights; useful for retired racing Greyhounds and German Shepherds and other dogs prone to arthritis and hip problems that don't need a 14" wide flap, but do need the flap to be close to the ground. These tall and skinny flap sizes are also excellent for allowing both a large and a small pet to use the same door.

Door glass has to be tempered for safety reasons. You cannot cut tempered glass, so to install this pet door a new piece of glass will have to be made, two if it is a double pane door. The raw glass can be cut and then tempered, then the pet door installed and all of that put into the door frame. This is a labor intensive job and it can be hard to find a glass shop that wants to do this job. The glass shops are welcome to call us at 1-866-377-3667 and we will be happy to talk to them about the installation. The Pet Door Guys solution is another in glass dog door option and it is an entire glass replacement so it is much easier to install.

    Hale In Glass

Hi Jon....finally got this installed. Works great and went pretty well. Glass company didnt have much trouble either although it was a new thing for them. It is very well insulated with no draft even in subzero weather. The dogs are very quickly learning to use it too.
