Product Overview

Pride Pet Door Flaps are two piece black rubber flaps that are direct replacements for Johnson flaps in medium, large and extra large sizes

Pride pet door flaps are black rubber two piece assemblies. The parts are not available separately, they are sold together. These flaps are generally quite durable and often times the flap size is completely worn off, in which case you will need to measure the flap to see which one you need. We measure the center part of the flap. If you measure the outside of the U shaped part of the flap you will end up with the wrong flap, so be careful.

Pride flaps are a direct replacement for Johnson and Pet Safe doors with 2 piece flaps for medium and larger sizes. Although this isn't the best picture, the Pride flaps have the same center flap and U shaped flap. M-2 or medium is the same as MD400A, L-2 or large is the same as LD500A, and XL-4 or extra large is the same as XLD600A.

We have had just a handful of out of hundreds of customers tell us that their MD400 flap didn't fit a plastic framed Johnson door correctly. The flap can be trimmed to work if you'd rather not replace the door. We did have one customer who said that the MD400 flap was too long for his Johnson panel pet door for a sliding door and he ended up returning it.

The S-2 or small flap is similar in size to the SD300A but mounts differently. You will have to trim the small flap and punch holes in the top to make it function.

Pride uses Masonite or pressboard locking covers, these covers do not fit Johnson doggy doors.

    Pride replacement door flap

Very good quality. My dogs don’t really like that it’s opaque black and heavier than the one we replaced, but it seems to be of good quality and installed easily. Also, the price was very reasonable.

Flap Assembly replacement - Excellent value

I finally had to buy a replacement for your pet door flap after my last one needed attention. The last one lasted close to 10 years and remains as durable & flexible today as the new one. Your model has outlasted, by far, any of the OEM ones I purchased in the past. The value of your product far exceeds any others. Excellent replacement flap. Terrific value! Thank-you!!

Great fit however needs two people to install unless it's mounted in the door.

    Doesn’t quite fit...

Posted by Alicia on Apr 5th 2019

Bought this as replacement for Johnson pet door. It’s a little too wide, and too thick - existing Johnson bolts were too short and replacement came with no hardware. I was able to bend it a little to get it in there, but once installed, replacement flap is so thick that metal insert (the part that covers the flap when you don’t want your dog to get through) won’t fit into its slot.

All-in-all, better than nothing but wish I’d put the $$ toward a new doggie door altogether.

    Johnson Pet Door replacement flaps

This is not clear and the dogs can't see through it. Do not like it as they cannot see if another dog is coming in or going out and they could run into each other potentially hurting one or both of them.

    Pride replacement pet. Door

It fits perfectly and was easy enough to install. The only think I don’t care for is that it is opaque (as stated in the description). My pets were a little reluctant to use it since they couldn’t see to the other side.
