Hale Replacement Flap Kit

I have had this door for many years and have been very happy with it. I have replaced both the inside and outside flaps one time without any problems. This time, however, there were major problems. The pre-drilled holes on the metal edges of the replacement flaps did not line up with the original holes on the frame of the unit that fits permanently in the wall. This was a MAJOR hassle to try to mark and drill new holes that matched. Two very frustrated handymen finally conquered the challenge and the new flaps are installed. Such a shame that a quality product now has such a major defect. This is why I gave the product 2 stars instead of 5. <br>[Pet Door Store comment] I apologize for the hassle you had installing these flaps. This is the first time we've heard of this problem in 15 years of selling Hale doors and flaps and for that reason we think this was a one off issue. If that sort of thing happens, call us and we will take care of it.

The flaps are fine but doing the install is a nightmare. So difficult..... Need a hinged flap so they last longer. My GSDs run in and out and they crack near the top from all that flexing. Only lasted a couple of years. A hinged flap(s) would make a world of difference. The actual frame is fine. This is basically a good product that can, with a few improvements, be a great product.

I purchased a house that had a Hale door with really old dried up flaps. I purchased these replacement ones, and after about an hour I had it up and running. Works like a charm, and now the area near the dog door isn't cold/hot in the winter/summer! I don't know how it affects my bills because I changed it within a couple of months of getting the house, but it makes me feel WAY better

I would like to review the replacement flaps I bought here a while back , they were easy to install and they seal out the outside weather very well . I will always recommend Hale pet doors to anybody that needs a good pet door , another satisfied customer . Thank You.
