Product Overview

Plexidor Wall Dog Doors have hollow Acrylic flaps that open like saloon doors with springs to close and seal to the frame with weather strip

  • Spring loaded Acrylic flaps sealed with pile weather strip
  • Good insulation value
  • Keyed lock with additional steel cover (Medium and larger)
  • Optional tracks allow cover to slide in place
  • Cheaper to maintain than vinyl flap doors
  • Attractive saloon door styling
  • Tunnel slopes to evacuate rain water
  • Satin, White, and Bronze frame colors
  • Requires the wall to be framed

The Plexidor offers a unique and attractive pet door. Their solution is to use 2 dual pane hardened Acrylic flaps which swing open from the center like a saloon door (extra large uses two single pane flaps). Rigid flaps are easier to seal than flexible vinyl like that used on the Hale Security and Ruff Weather pet doors. This door uses pile weather-stripping around the flap to seal it to the frame. The doors are spring loaded to return to the closed position. With the advantages of a nearly unbreakable flap and good insulation, the Plexidor is a good choice for severe climates. We feel this is the most aesthetically appealing pet door on the market. This unique door uses a keyed lock for day to day use, and comes with a bolt on steel cover in Medium and larger sizes. There is an optional rail setup which allows the steel cover to slide into place for day to day use. Plexidor wall kit gets you everything you need; the flap assembly, the tunnel trim pieces, and the outside framing. The tunnel sections are brushed aluminum regardless of the color of the inner and outer frames.

An alternative for those who want the best performance in extreme climates is to purchase 2 of the regular Door Mount Plexidors, and mount one on the inside of the wall and one on the outside of the wall. We cannot provide the tunnel for this type of application, so it will need to be built out of wood by the customer. If this setup is used, the result is 2 barriers each being dual insulated Acrylic. A great idea for extreme climates!

This is my second house with a Plexidor and I would not ever purchase another product. I am going to put a second door in my new house in a few months!
